Big Bay Town Park

Big Bay Town Park is located about one mile from the cabin. There is a parking lot area there where you then hike down some stairs to access the beach and lagoon. There is no entry fee or charge, it is a free public park and connects directly to the same beach as the state park. There are some canoe rentals for $10 an hour there that you can use to go explore the lagoon by water or just relax and enjoy the beach, lake, and boardwalk that follows the shoreline.
Big Bay State Park

Discover the natural beauty of Big Bay State Park, park entrance is just 6 miles from the cabin. This gem boasts sandy beaches, lush forests, and stunning Lake Superior and sandstone shoreline views. Explore miles of hiking trails, kayak along the shoreline, or relax on one of Wisconsin’s longest beaches. Standard state park entrance fees apply so you will either need to purchase a day pass or have a state park sticker.
North End Trail System

The North End Trail system maintained by Madeline Island Wilderness Preserve offers a look at some of the old growth pine forests on the island. Winding switchbacks through the forest offer a step back in time. Open for hiking, snowshoeing or skiing. Explore the North End Trails which start about 3 miles north or the Casper Trailhead which is about 6 miles southwest near LaPointe.

Miijim on Madeline Island, also known as Mooningwanekaaning, named by the Ojibwe people who first lived here. At Miijim, we're all about celebrating the tastes and traditions of the Ojibwe.
